In his “Ge-stelle”, Klaus Pamminger (re-)transforms his virtual photographic rooms into real space. The sources for these 3-dimensional room drawings are his “photo inlays” and “room invasions” which he creates by way of a cubistic dissection i.a. from movies like ‘Belle de Jour’ (1967) or ‘The Great Train Robbery’ (1903). By reducing the image space to the level of its building lines and eliminating the surfaces in form of wooden constructions, he “discloses” the photographic space and displays its elementary spatial characteristics. At the same time an abstract room-code emerges, which through shadow cast translates into another graphical layer.
